The visit of Former Vice President of Republic of China in Taiwan – Dr. Hsiu-lien Lu to the San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant and the Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center on December 8, 2012.

 

 


CAEPA members attended the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in San Francisco from November 14 through 16, 2012 and photographed with Chair of World Green Building Council Mr. Wall.


CAEPA had a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AsianWeek Foundation (AWF) on October 31, 2012. CAEPA will have the AWF as a community sponsor to cover the scholarship program period of October 31, 2012 to November 1, 2013.


CAEPA members attended the Stanford-Taiwan Biomedical Forum 2012 on October 12, 2012 in Palo Alto.


CAEPA members visited new Director of Science and Technology Division Dr. Ting-An Wang of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office on October 5, 2012 in Santa Clara.


CAEPA members attended the reception of the 63th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on September 21, 2012 in San Francisco.


CAEPA sponsored the Southern California Chinese American Environmental Protection Association's (SCCAEPA's) 5th Symposium on Global Emerging Environmental Challenges and Government Responses, held in Los Angeles on August 9 through 11, 2012. CAEPA members served as moderator and speakers.


 

CAEPA held a site tour to visit SFPUC Sunol Valley Water Treatment Plant on July 28, 2012. Mr. Ravi Krishnaiah and Mr. Mike Price gave a presentation and the plant tour.

 


 

The 2012 Cross-Strait Environmental Summit was successfully held in Taipei, Taiwan from April 22 to 24, 2012. It was a great conference attended by about 150 - 200 people from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and U.S. CAEPA members served as speakers in various areas including environmental education, ecological conservation, noise control, low carbon policy, and green industry.

 

 

    

 


The “After Three Gorges Dam” international symposium was successfully completed at University of California (UC) - Berkeley from April 13 to 14, 2012. As a co-sponsor to assist the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at UC Berkeley, CAEPA member served as moderator and translators in various capacities for this 2-day event.


A long-time CAEPA member and supporter, Dr. Joseph Yang (former Director of Science and Technology Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office [TECO] in San Francisco), recently left the Silicon Valley and returned to Taiwan.CAEPA is honored to be one of the co-sponsors for Dr. Yang's Farewell Dinner Party, and at the party our CAEPA representatives also presented Dr. Yang with an appreciation plaque that was specially made in Taiwan. We recently heard from Dr. Yang and would like to share his appreciation letter here with you.

We are pleased to announce that CAEPA will be hosting the 2013 International Conference on Sustainability and Environmental Protection this coming October. The conference will be held in Burlingame on October 12th and 13th, with two days of pre-conference training workshops on October 10th and 11th. First Call for abstract for conference presentation and publication is due by March 31, 2013. We hope to see you there!
